Police in California have arrested a female motorist who allegedly hit an elderly pedestrian on Monday morning and then drove almost a mile toward her home with the man’s lifeless body lodged firmly in the windshield, People confirms.
A statement from police in Oceanside, California, claims Esteysi “Stacy” Sanchez, 29, drove to her house with the 69-year-old man’s head resting on the passenger seat.
Police have not yet released the man’s name, pending next of kin notification.
Investigators in Oceanside claim Sanchez was on her way home from a night of carousing when she mowed the man down around 6:20 a.m.
Detectives claim Sanchez hit the unnamed man soon after her car began to swerve down the roadway.
Police say Sanchez ran into the man as he was leaving a soup kitchen.
“The force of the collision caused the victim to go through the windshield of the vehicle and become lodged in the front passenger seat,” according to the police statement, which was obtained by People.
