“Well Gollum, you’re an expert on rings. What do I do with this one?”
And with that, The Big Bang Theory ended its eighth season and broke all our Sheldon-loving hearts.
After several seasons of doing her damnedest to make her relationship with the socially-challenged Sheldon work, Amy was understandably upset when her boyfriend interrupted a make-out session to talk about The Flash. This led to her deciding to reevaluate their relationship and break things off, via video chat.
Sheldon then turned to his Gollum figurine and pulled out a ring box, because he was apparently about to propose.
Now, we have many thoughts about this turn of events. First of all, we completely understand Amy’s hesitations about continuing to date Sheldon, because he clearly has other priorities.
Second, and perhaps more importantly, we completely and totally understand Sheldon feeling like he needs to watch The Flash, though we’re not quite sure how he could possibly not already have watched every single episode of it. It is one of the best shows on TV right now, and we’re pretty sure that if Amy would just watch it, she would agree, and maybe she could share in Sheldon’s love of the fastest man alive.
Anyway, we digress.
