The US’ 25 bestselling singles of all time. From Eminem to Lady Gaga, who is the top seller?

  • The singles are mainly pop songs, and Eminem and Katy Perry are the most popular with three each in the chart
  • Only one song in the group was released before 2000, Elton John’s Candle in the Wind 1997

The US’ bestselling singles of all time are heavy on pop, but not a whole lot outside that. Rock, country and rap are scattered throughout, but are largely missing from the top 25.

Among the Recording Industry Association of America’s biggest singles ever, Eminem and Katy Perry are the most popular artists, with three songs each in the top 25.

Here’s the RIAA’s list of the 25 bestselling singles in the US, which is based on certified units sold in the US.
