‘Terminator Genisys’ stars attempt to explain what ‘Genisys’ actually means

Remember when Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that his fifth Terminator movie was called Terminator Genisys, and the Internet was NOT having it?

Well, we can confirm that the word “Genisys” is not a typo. But it is a very confusing word that much of the cast doesn’t actually understand… and the rest just feign ignorance.

Apparently, it’s a pretty spoilery part of the movie. So why go with that as the film’s actual title? Producer David Ellison explained at the Terminator Genisys premiere in Hollywood:

“It was a collective decision – obviously refers to (MINOR SPOILER ALERT) the man-machine hybrid that John turns out to be, and also signaling a new beginning.”

Yeah, movie fans definitely didn’t get that.

“We may be a little too smart for ourselves,” said Ellison. “We were playing on the word genisys (pronounced geneses) in this movie, but everyone just thought we spelled something wrong.”
