Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse displays her sporting prowess as she leads a celebrity team to victory in Sport Relief’s All-Star Netball

Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse proved she had some amazing moves both in and out of the ballroom on Saturday as she led her team to victory in Sport Relief’s All-Star Netball.

The dancer, 28, was quick to move as she captained a team including DJ Vick Hope and Big Brother star Adele Roberts to a sensational win at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

Oti went head-to-head with a team captained by acting legend Jennifer Saunders in the match which also aimed to raise funds for Sport Relief.

Donning a red netball kit, Oti was quick on her feet as she took part in the charity match with the red team.

The Greatest Dancer judge looked sensational in her kit as she joined stars for the one-off match in the midst of the Netball World Cup in the city.

After a tense game Oti’s team came out on top and delightedly lifted the trophy, with the entire display aired on BBC2 for sports fans.

Even Jennifer proved she could still move with her younger rivals, and scored a sensational goal with an under-arm throw to the delight of the watching crowd.

Looking ready to battle it out, the celebrities and professional netball players slipped into red and blue sports kits for the game – made up of skorts and T-shirts printed with their player position.

Not only were viewers treated to seeing the teams take on one another, but also the ups and downs leading up to the match during gruelling training sessions.

The TV special also showcased how the money raised was used to help people – all presented by Clare Balding, 48.

According to Radio Times, speaking prior to the game, Jennifer said: ‘I never thought I’d be leading a team out on to a netball court but I’m definitely up for the challenge.’

She added: ‘This might be my only chance to hold up a sporting trophy and I’m not letting this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip away from me, so when I pull on that netball bib I’ll be taking my role as team captain very seriously.’

Oti shared: ‘I’ll be pushing the team and I’m going to do a massive pep talk about self-belief and encouragement – my plan is to make the team believe they are the best netball players in the country.’

In March, Jennifer showed her support for the charity by taking part in a comedy spoof that was shown on Comic Relief night.

The two-part Mamma Mia! sequel spoof segment left viewers in hysterics as Jennifer morphed into Cher and Meryl Streep’s characters in the funny sketch.

The Absolutely Fabulous star hilariously recreated the stand-out moment from the second movie where Cher takes to the stage to belt out the lyrics of Fernando.

Twitter was flooded with praise for the actress as viewers remarked she ‘nailed’ two very different parts when she took on both Cher and Meryl’s roles for the comic clip.

‘Crying with laughter at Jennifer Saunders’ interpretation of Meryl Streep on Comic Relief :D,’ one fan wrote, leading the troops on social media.

As Jennifer took on the role of Meryl’s character Donna, she joked that she wasn’t in the second movie at all despite being the first film’s protagonist. ‘Am I in this at all?’ She said as Meryl.

Other highlights included hilariously shaming Pierce Brosnan’s questionable singing in the movie as the show said his character was the ‘one who couldn’t sing’.

The spoof also made fun of the fact the story is set in Greece but the filmmakers decided to film in Croatia instead
