So, ‘Pretty Girls’ Flopped, But Britney Spears Might Be Teaming Up With This Producer To Bounce Back

One of the major bummers of the summer so far is how “Pretty Girls” — the ’80s-infused collab between Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea — didn’t shoot to the top of the charts like its spaceship cover art suggested it might’ve.

And then came all the Brit-Ig drama on Twitter, which by now is totally donezo because Ig says it is. Britney seems to have moved on as well, but here’s where it gets interesting.

At the Wireless Festival in London yesterday, DJ Mustard — the in-demand producer behind hits by Tyga, Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz — told ThisIsMax that he’s working with Spears in the studio. It’s hard to hear, but listen closely to this clip…

…and you’ll distinctly hear Mustard say Spears’ name, right after he says, “I haven’t told anybody this.”

This is interesting, of course, because Mustard’s signature club-heavy, snap-utilizing sound is all over Iggy’s massive hit “Fancy,” and it’s in “Pretty Girls” in flashes, too, despite Mustard’s non-involvement on either of those tracks.

What would an entire Britney album of Mustard-produced beats sounds like? Hopefully we’ll find out soon enough.\
