Kellie Pickler’s staying busy this summer. The North Carolina native, introduced to the world in 2006 viaAmerican Idol, started production on her I Love Kellie Pickler reality series for CMT in June. She’ll also be one of the co-hosts for Ryan Seacrest’s new Knock Knock Live, which premieres on Fox July 21.
In addition, she’s got a new single, Feeling Tonight, the lyric video for which is premiering at USA TODAY.
“It’s a good problem to have, ain’t it?” says the singer, 29.
On Knock Knock, Pickler will show up at unsuspecting people’s houses with the opportunity to win prizes, realize dreams and meet famous people.
“I’m going to knock on doors,” she says. “I have to be prepared to knock on someone’s door and them see a camera crew. They might not be a Kellie Pickler fan, and they might not want to be on TV, so I might get the door slammed in my face.”
Other correspondents on the show include actress/singer Adrienne Bailon, TV hostRoss Mathews, recording artist Jordan “Shorty” Johnson and TV/radio personality Chuey Martinez
The casting of Pickler on Knock Knock has delayed her CMT show, which is being produced by Seacrest and originally was scheduled for a September premiere. “Right now, it looks like it’s going to be sometime in November,” she says.
Pickler released Feeling Tonight last month. “It’s a fun, energetic, happy feel-good song. I was excited to work with my husband, Kyle Jacobs, and our friend Matt McClure in the studio. They did a great job of capturing my energy and my voice.”
