McCartney to induct pal Ringo into Rock Hall

Ringo Starr will get the royal treatment — a speech by Paul McCartney and a performance by brother-in-law Joe Walsh — when he’s inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month in Cleveland.

The Hall has just announced the presenters and some of the performers who will appear at the 30th annual ceremony on April 18 in Cleveland’s Public Hall. The proceedings will be taped for airing on HBO May 30.

his year’s inductee/presenter lineup: Starr/McCartney; Bill Withers/Stevie Wonder; Lou Reed/Patti Smith; Paul Butterfield Blues Band/Peter Wolf; Green Day/Fall Out Boy; Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble/John Mayer; the “5” Royales/Steve Cropper. No presenter has been announced for inductees Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
