Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert win big at ACMs

Miranda Lambert stockpiled trophies quickly Sunday at the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards in Texas. The singer, who led all ACM contenders this year with eight nominations, won her sixth consecutive award for female vocalist of the year. She also won her fourth award for top album forPlatinum, as well as song of the year for her hit Automatic.

“I don’t even realize what’s happening tonight, but thank y’all so much, Texas,” Lambert said as she accepted the trophy for top female vocalist.

Co-host Luke Bryan won his second award for entertainer of the year, as the ACM celebrated its 50th anniversary in the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The three-and-a-half-hour telecast was the most-attended live awards show ever.

“Everything is bigger in Texas, and that’s why we came here to celebrate the ACM’s 50th anniversary,” said singer Blake Shelton, who hosted the show with Bryan.
