Britney Spears may or may not have thrown some serious shade at “Pretty Girls” collaborator Iggy Azalea.
After Iggy voiced her opinion as to why she thought their single didn’t do as well on the charts — “It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc” — Britney took to Twitter to send what appears to be a subtle dig at the “Fancy” rapper.
Britney tweeted that she couldn’t wait to get back to her Las Vegas residency and added, “So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to… #YouWantAPieceOfMe.”
Though she never mentions Iggy’s name, it’s kind of ironic she tweeted that especially since Iggy recently cancelled her Great Escape tour.
Iggy, who performed the song one time with the pop star at the Billboard Music Awards, has yet to respond to Brit’s tweet, but she definitely had a lot to say on Twitter regarding their single together, saying that she would have “enjoyed” performing the song a lot more.
Britney’s fans instantly defended their girl, accusing Iggy of doing some shading of her own, which prompted the rapper to say that she doesn’t need to “suck the woman’s a–hole 24/7 to be her friend” and that friends just sometimes have different opinions.
