Here’s who Andy Serkis will be playing in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Slowly but surely we are getting more information about Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Earlier this month Vanity Fair gave us some great shots of the new cast, along with confirming thatAdam Driver was playing the bad guy we all knew he was, courtesy of famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. Now, in an interview with Leibovitz for StarWars.com, we’ve learned the identity of another character, the one being played by Andy Serkis.

Serkis will be playing a character named Supreme Leader Snoke which is a) really just the best name we could think of for someone who’s a supreme leader and b) definitely a motion capture character, based on this previously unpublished Leibovitz shot

So what can we tell about this character? Well, he’ll be supreme. And probably a leader. But much like the shot of Lupita Nyong’o in her mo-cap gear, there’s really not that much else for us to learn. But we can speculate wildly (because what else would we do) and we’re going to guess that Snoke is not a good guy. Because good guys don’t usually have “Supreme Leader” attached to their names.
