The Motion Picture Sound Editors spread the wealth at its 62nd Golden Reel Awards, giving one trophy each to the sound editing teams on American Sniper, Birdman, Get On Up and Unbroken in the live action feature categories.
American Sniper, Birdman and Unbroken are nominated for the Oscar in sound editing, along with The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies andInterstellar.
On Sunday at the Westin Bonaventure, the sound editors behind American Sniper were honored with Golden Reel Awards in the category for FX/Foley,Unbroken for dialogue/ADR, Birdman for music, andGet On Up for a musical feature. Additionally, Big Hero 6‘s sound editors won the category for an animated feature.
During the ceremony, Darren Aronofsky received the MPSE FIlmmaker Award and Skip Lievsay (Gravity) was presented the Career Achievement Award.
The Golden Reel Awards recognize sound editing in 20 categories for feature films, television, animation, computer entertainment and student work.
